Xavi responds to the news of Messi's return

Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez commented on the possibility of the return of the legend Lionel Messi, who is currently playing in the ranks of Paris Saint-Germain.

Messi left Barcelona last summer, heading to Paris Saint-Germain for two seasons, with the possibility of extending for an additional season.

Xavi said, in comments reported by the Spanish newspaper "Sport", today, Tuesday: "It makes no sense to talk about Messi's return to Barcelona at the present time."

He added: "Messi has a contract with Paris Saint-Germain, so his return is currently impossible, and we will see in the future."

And he concluded: "President Joan Laporta has already said that he hopes that Messi's departure will not mark the end of his story with Barcelona."

It is noteworthy that several press reports have emerged in the past few days, according to Xavi Hernandez's request from the Catalan club president, Juan Laporta, to return Argentine Lionel Messi, immediately after the end of his contract with "PSG", at the end of next season.
