Jeremy Renner, a member of the Marvel Cinematic Universe who is best known for playing Hawkeye in the superhero series, is currently in the hospital after suffering injuries in what is being described as a "weather related mishap."

The actor is "in critical but stable condition with injuries sustained after experiencing a weather-related mishap while shoveling snow earlier today," according to a statement from Renner's representative to Deadline. According to Deadline, earlier today, January 1, 2023, Renner was evacuated to the hospital. Renner's family is currently at the hospital with him, where, according to his spokeswoman, the actor is "getting outstanding care."

According to a spokeswoman, Renner was the only one hurt in the event. The spokesperson also stated that the Major Accident Inquiry Team has begun an investigation.

The Reno Gazette-Journal, a local news source, reports that Renner has a residence in the Reno vicinity close to Lake Tahoe.

With the caption: "Drifting in the snow," Renner released a video of himself in a 4x4 last month "Preparing for winter on a Monday morning has never been more enjoyable.

In regions of neighboring Nevada and northern California, the storm caused hundreds of highways to be blocked and thousands of houses to lose electricity.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is well-known for the role of Hawkeye that Renner, a two-time Oscar candidate, played.

Alongside Tom Cruise, he has appeared in movies including The Hurt Locker, American Hustle, and Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol.

Renner, who has a kid with his ex-wife Sonni Pacheco, presently plays the mayor of Kingstown in the Paramount+ series.

He will also play the lead in the four-part Disney+ series Rennervations, in which Renner strives to assist local communities by creating special purpose-built cars to suit the region's need.

Renner, a volunteer fire chief, disclosed last month that he was working on the construction of a fire station in Tahoe when he appeared on the Kelly Clarkson Show.
